The Battle of the Network Stars: A Journey to Remember

As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the incredible experiences I've had in my life. One such adventure was participating in the Battle of the Network Stars dunk tank height challenge. It's a memory that I cherish to this day.

Growing up in Rawlins, Wyoming with my trusty sidekick Robby Robot and my sports gear, I always dreamed big. As a young boy, I used to imagine myself as a professional basketball player like Bob Cousy or a professional football player like Johnny Unitas. While those dreams didn't quite pan out, I was fortunate enough to have some amazing opportunities in Hollywood.

I got to play cowboys and Indians, race car drivers, top gun pilots, army soldiers, and even leading men alongside beautiful women - all while getting paid a handsome sum. Of course, this kind of fame isn't sustainable for long, but it was an incredible experience nonetheless.

Fast forward 40 years, and I received an invitation to participate in the Battle of the Network Stars again. This time, it was NBC who asked me to join in on the fun. I think they invited me four or five times over the course of several years. Back in the 1970s and early 1980s, it was a prestigious honor to be 'invited' to compete in this event.

As one of only a handful of stars representing our network, we would gather for a day of friendly competition. It was an experience I won't forget anytime soon.
